My Approach
Great to meet you!
It brings personal fulfillment to have been able to teach patients dealing with chronic illness, including the veteran population, about care options and benefits that are available to them in their community over several years. I now am able to give the time and attention needed for that one on one emotional support that so many of us need. Being able to support someone through some of the darkest moments has truly been an honor. We can weather the storm before the rainbow together.
A bit about my approach to therapy
I want each person to feel comfortable, there is no judgement just desire to understand and ensure you are heard. I believe in the strengths perspective that we all have tools such as resilience and courage to help us get through the journey for a greater outcome. I also work from supportive interventions and solution focused approaches as well. I do believe that it's important to reflect on your readiness to actively and intentionally make changes that you desire.
What you can expect from our first session
I hope that each client can feel empowered to develop their own techniques and ability to view issues from different perspectives, cultivate resolution and healing. Each client should feel heard and work to feel confident in processing and understanding themselves, their need and wants that can help them move forward in their lives. The first session will be a thorough assessment in learning about you, your background, social history and health. This will help in formulating a treatment plan right for you.
